who would have thought when I got out of bed this morning that I would be crying over a toilet seat by lunch time…
well today was just like another day….we got up, got ready to start the day, and got ready to leave for Veronika’s therapy appointment with her physio and occupational therapist…today was hot so Veronika only wore her second skin with a pretty skirt over it…
so we went to see Veronika’s therapists…
had the appointment and got back in the car….I had a message from Kristy, who follows Veronika Will Walk…(Facebook page)…early last month I was walking to the hospital, and Kristy stopped me to say hello, as she recognized Veronika from her FB page. Anyway, Kristy said she had something for Veronika and could I meet her….so I messaged back and said we were leaving and where could we meet, so we met in town a few minutes later…anyway Kristy had been out to buy Veronika toilet seat…..you may be thinking why would someone do that…well Kristy had seen me comment on a photo on another FB page, about a toilet seat, I had commented that I had written to the makers of this toilet seat to see where you can buy them in Tassie, as I wanted to save up to get Veronika one….these toilet seats are called lupi lu’s and they have a toddler toilet seat attached inside the lid, so i can be used by adults as a regular toilet seat, and then you can also pull down the insert in the lid to make it a toddler seat….because Veronika cant balance, and her balance is so much worse since her seizures, she can’t balance on the toilet seat without almost falling in or off…so Kristy had seen that I wanted to save up and get Veronika one, and she said it was her payday, and instead of putting some of her pay away for her savings, she wanted to spend it on getting Veronika a lupi lu so she can use the toilet safely….and I cried, sitting in a cafe in town over a toilet seat because that was just such a beautiful gift for Veronika, and not to mention saves my back trying to bend and hold onto Veronika to try balance her on the toilet seat….
…and yes we came home, put the lupi lu on and Veroika used to toilet….then signed she was ‘clever’.
Thankyou Kristy for Blessing Veronika today, the world is full of amazing thoughtful people, and such a practical gift, and so I say Thankyou….you have given the gift of being able to use the toilet independently(well once we can teach Veronika to get on/off the seat), but Veronika was so happy to sit there independently and not need to be held…
